Carbon has a mass fraction of less than 2.11% and does not contain specially added alloy elements in steel.Sometimes called plain carbon steel or carbon steel.Carbon steel, also known as carbon steel, refers to iron and carbon alloy with a carbon content of Wc less than 2.11%.

Carbon steel generally contains a small amount of silicon, manganese, sulfur and phosphorus in addition to carbon.Carbon content of carbon steel used in industry is generally no more than 1.4%.This is because when the carbon content exceeds this level, the steel shows great brittleness, and the processing is difficult and the production and use value are lost.Carbon steel can be divided into ordinary carbon structural steel and high quality carbon structural steel according to its different quality.

The allowable content of sulfur and phosphorus of high quality carbon structural steel is lower than that of ordinary carbon steel, so the comprehensive mechanical performance is better than that of ordinary carbon steel.
